Artist Info

Big Nazo

Big Nazo

BIG NAZO is an international performance group of visual artists, puppet performers, and masked musicians who unite to create bizarre and hilarious larger-than-life sized characters, environments, and spectacles.

Renegade circus family contortionists, a rowdy rodeo horse, a giant three-eyed robot percussionist, break-dancing police officers, Mountain Trolls, blob-like GO-GO Dancers, a charismatic lab rat and his giant man-eating chia pet are just a few of the characters, environments, and spectacles that create an irreverent musical Commedia full of irresolvable conflict, ridiculous dancing and an epic battle with the forces of chaos.

Purple

Formed out of love for Prince and his music, “Purple” has been fronted by Craig Mitchell since the band’s inception during Burlington’s Discover Jazz Festival at Club Metronome, June 7, 2010. The band has performed numerous times since their first show and has included various members over the years. Join PURPLE as they weave through Prince’s extensive catalogue of hits and deep cuts. It’s gonna be funky!

The High Breaks + DJ Kanga

The High Breaks are a nuanced surf rock inspired trio. Motivated by Dick Dale, The Ventures, David Lynch and Quentin Tarantino. The result is sharp, cool, dreamy music. With delicate dynamics and rich, reverb laden tones, their instrumental compositions take imaginative turns. The High Breaks provide a stoic stage presence that creates a cinematic wash and allows an audience to be as engaged as they want to be.

Todd Gevry – drums/vocals
Kevin Lynam – bass/vocals

Andriana & The Bananas

Andriana and the Bananas

“Armed with an expressive alto”, Andriana Chobot, a “theatrical voice that likely owes some debt to the emotionally forthright work of Rufus Wainwright and Sarah McLachlan” (SEVEN DAYS), brings an eclectic mix of pop-rock-indie-folk, with a touch of jazz, that immerses the listener into an original soundscape. Whether it’s just her solo, delivering an soft drummed, electronic piano centered performance, or equipped with her band of local talent, she delivers renditions ranging in upbeat originals, covers and cool, ethereal ballads, with “fluttering piano…one very reminiscent of Imogen Heap, among others”

Cheddar

Cheddar is a high-energy band serving up deep grooves and danceable jams rooted in funk, soul, and R&B. With a lineup of seasoned players and a shared love for getting crowds moving, Cheddar brings both stellar musicianship and serious feel-good energy to every performance.

The band features Pete Cornell on guitar, a longtime touring musician who has shared bills with acts like Steely Dan, Alabama Shakes, and Parliament. On vocals is Janéa Hudson, a standout in the Vermont jazz scene known for her powerful voice and her own jazz quartet. On drums is Brandon Terzkais, formerly of the metal outfit Fórn and now leading his own jazz trio, and on bass is Mats Thureson, who also plays with Rose Asteroid, an up-and-coming funk-rock band out of Burlington.

Whether it’s a festival, club night, or summer dance party, Cheddar delivers a rich blend of tight grooves and spontaneous magic that gets people on their feet.

dj cRAIG mITCHELL

cRAIGmITCHELL, a.k.a. oLIVERtWISTED, a founding member of the chart-topping production team The Orange Factory, fathered and cultivated the dance music scene in Burlington, Vermont, where he went to Saint Michaels College after moving from Saginaw Michigan…near the birthplace of techno, Detroit, Michigan. With over 16 years behind the decks, cRAIG has served as a resident at New York City’s legendary Tunnel and has played the country’s most celebrated venues and club nights. He has rocked crowds alongside such tastemakers as Chris Fortier, Peter Rauhofer, Honey Dijon and Tom Stephan (Superchumbo), amongst others. One experience with cRAIG behind the tables and belting out one of his tracks LIVE, while dancing continuously in the booth and you’ll understand why his shows are so well attended and recieved. Unlike many of today’s DJ’s who are so focused on their mix, that they forget about the VIBE, cRAIG is not just a DJ, he is a performer.

DJ Kanganade

KANGA has been refining his skills on the turntables for over 20 years. KANGA has opened for acts such as Kevin Knapp, drum and bass legend LTJ Bukem, as well as Dj Babu, Dj G.I. Joe of Immortal Technique, Phil Da Agony, and Heiroglyphics.

Matt Hagen’s Classy Boss

Matt Hagen plays instrumental Spanish guitar that blends Latin inspired Bossa Nova, Baroque-era classical, Flamenco and Spaghetti Western themes into original compositions. When accompanied by various instrumentation such as percussion, saw, saxophone, flute and voice, the result is full of colorful motifs that are equally relaxing and invigorating.
