Beer Cafe

We quietly opened The Alchemist Beer Cafe in October of 2022, a long envisioned space to enjoy our brewery and the beers we craft. A nod to our original Waterbury-based brew pub, we created this space to have a nice, laid-back vibe; a place where everyone feels comfortable and welcome.
Although we have some tasty “nibbly bits” to enjoy while sipping your beverage of choice, the focus is on what we do best: beer. In addition to daily $5 drafts of hand-pulled Heady Topper, we have an impressive, and delicious, selection of canned, bottle aged and specialty beers, many of which are the culmination of many years of work.
Our capacity is limited for the winter, but we have plans in place to build a 4 season awning space in the spring. We recently received town approval for this exciting project that will give us more space for winter seating, 3 additional bathrooms, and plenty of space for music and fun! The sides will retract in warmer months, giving us more outside space to connect with our Beer Garden. We are excited about our future plans, but until this project is complete, we are implementing a reservation system to help you secure a seat in the Beer Cafe. We are not ‘reservation only’, and we welcome walk-ins, but if you are visiting this winter, we strongly recommend reserving a seat for you and your group.
To answer any questions you have about our Reservation System, we have put together a Q&A below. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, and from all of us here at The Alchemist, we look forward to welcoming you!
What are your hours?
The Beer Cafe is open Thursday-Sunday, 11am-6pm. We’re open every day from 11am-6pm for retail beer to go.
How many people may I make a reservation for?
Our maximum group size for a reservation is 6.
Is the Beer Cafe reservation only?
No. Although we are unable to guarantee a seat or entry without a reservation, we will always do our best to accommodate you as soon as possible.
Is there a fee to reserve a table?
Yes – we charge $1/person to make a reservation. This small charge covers our own booking fee.
May I cancel my reservation?
Yes – you can cancel your reservation up to 24 hours ahead of time.
Are you a full service restaurant?
No, but we offer some light nibbly bits to accompany your beverage of choice.
May I bring my cute dog?
As much as we love dogs, we only allow service dogs.
Are you family friendly?
Of course, but please keep your small children close by and under control.
No Buses

Due to limited seating and standing space, we cannot accommodate buses of any kind at the brewery. In the Spring of 2023, we will begin construction of a 4-season room expansion to add more seating and bathrooms. But until then… we have implemented a reservations system allowing groups of up to 6 people to reserve a table in advance of their visit. There will also be around 30 first-come seats and outdoor seating/standing space for groups until the expansion is complete. Stay tuned for more updates!
