Storyweaving with Djeli Celestia

Friday, June 19 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Free

Djeli Celestia is returning to this year’s Juneteenth Jubilation for an hour of storyweaving on the brewery patio.

“I am beyond excited to return to The Alchemist for the Juneteenth celebration again this year,” says Djeli. “It brings me great joy to weave story and ceremony into a community healing process. As I experienced last year, the Juneteenth celebration at the Alchemist is all about “us”, when we focus our attention and trust in the process we engage in the healing of us.

I will bring stories of Anansi, the spider, to be woven into a prayer of water that is meant for all ages.”

Djeli uses the pronoun ki (pronounced key), meaning divine being of love, light and shadow yet is comfortable being referred to with any pronouns. Djeli is a story weaver who helps transform overwhelm to overjoy. Ki uses a multitude of practices to create an atmosphere of curiosity and dialogue, even around difficult topics. Ki helps others breathe life into their own process as part of a healing practice of creating from the heart.

Djeli is a thought leader, life coach, ceremonialist, public speaker, lifelong storyteller, and former Cirque du Soleil acrobat who has traveled the world weaving energies to remind us of our interconnectedness. Djeli is an initiated Dagara diviner and Ritual Arts Facilitator as well as a Reiki Master Practitioner.

Djeli is the co-founder of I M Project, mentoring men, young men and boys and co-founder of The Sacred Center supporting healing transformation of mind, body and spirit through the interconnection of all beings. Djeli is also an active member of the National Association of Black Storytellers (NABS)
